Re: beer at ebbtide
Mon, October 6, 2003 - 1:47 PMI cry out no to PBR – it’s everywhere, like a rice brewed plague. Bud in bottles for the water beer craving damned I say!
A good Pilsner or ale – anything from Spatan to Full Sail and a rich stout – Murphy’s or Death and Taxes (although Krostrizer makes a black beer that is divine) get my vote. Then again I don’t know if anyone drinks stouts.
Sake is good. Red wine is better.

Mon, October 6, 2003 - 1:59 PMI second Turbodog.
Also sake.
Here's a thought. Tables of people doing sake bombs at breakfast at the ET.

Re: beer at ebbtide
Mon, October 6, 2003 - 3:06 PMDefinitely sake.
And find a distributor that carries that tasty peaty French beer, Adelscott. There's nowhere to get it anymore in this otherwise perfect town.

Mon, October 6, 2003 - 3:17 PMMy personal breakfast heaven includes beerios...
Or the 16th century european breakfast of bread soaking in a bowl of beer... of course i'll take mine cold, not simmered.

Re: beer at ebbtide
Mon, October 6, 2003 - 3:26 PMSTELLA. Er, if you get three taps, I'd go for a light like Stella or Pilsner Urquel, a medium like Speakeasy and then Guinness. And then get whatever in bottles. I'd go for cider in bottles as well as a wheat beer and a cheap ass beer like Bud.
If you get more taps I'd say get PBR and have crazy specials like a $5 pitcher if you buy 2 appetizers, or something. -

Re: beer at ebbtide
Mon, October 6, 2003 - 3:41 PMYeah, for two taps, I'd probably say a lite™ beer like stella and an ale, like, say Speakeasy Prohibition.
The stuff like Bud and cider will be fine in bottles. -

Re: beer at ebbtide
Mon, October 6, 2003 - 5:28 PMI like speakeasy too -- it's hearty and pretty strong. Yummy with eggs, I would imagine. (Not mixed into eggs, of course, but -- oh, fuck, you know what I mean.)

Tue, October 7, 2003 - 1:47 PMNo shit! Tang-fucking-gria.
2 buck chuck and tang for breakfast.
How could we work coffee into this?
Maybe we could make a tangria parfait with tangria jello and coffe flavored pudding layers.
Kelleigh?

Re: beer at ebbtide
Tue, October 7, 2003 - 2:51 PMSparks, Bud and Tangria – good god! I’m having highschool flashbacks, so count me in for 40’s of King Cobra and Boon’s Strawberry Hill.
Of course you could really get the “local flavor” right if you also had bottles of Cisco served in brown paper, and then lined up on the curb.
